B5000B (6601B) Bending Rail with Mould

Rail Size: 2-1/4″ w x 2-1/4″ h

Construction: Solid – all plies solid and laminated.

Exceptions:

  • Alder may have 1-joint in 10′-16′.
  • Beech may have
    1-joint 12′-16′.
  • Birch may have 1 joint 10′-16′;
  • Walnut may have 1-joint
    in 7′-10′ and 2 joints in 11′-16′.
  • White Oak may have 1-joint
    14′-16′.

Requesting all 16′ Lengths may alter construction.
Lengths: Straight Rail & Bending Rail is available up to 30′
long. Rail 17′ through 20′ has a setup charge of $130, rail 21′
through 26′ has a setup charge of $200 and 27′ – 30′ rail has a setup charge of $400 (consult with office on shipping cost for rail over 23′). Straight and Bending Rails over 16′ in solid ply construction will have 1 finger-joint per ply (some species more than 1). Long length setup charges are per profile per order.

Many rails are stocked for immediate shipment. Some
rails are stocked in limited lengths.
Stock rail is sold in 4′, 5′, 6′, 7′, 8′, 9′, 10′, 11′, 12′, 14′
& 16′ lengths.
Non-stock rails and plowed rails have an 8′ minimum order.

Alder is clear and may have tight pin knots.
Hickory has both heartwood and sapwood. A range of colors is not a defect.

Please check your local building codes to verify if the style you have chosen is approved for that local.

The Run, Rise and Radius must be constant where Bending Rail is used. The minimum recommended radius to use Bending Rail successfully on Rake Rails is 30 for 5000B. The minimum recommended radius to use Bending Rail successfully on Balcony Rails is 36 for this profile.

NOTE: Wood is a natural material and different pieces may bend differently. More than one attempt may be necessary to obtain the radius you need even if your radius is within the recommended radius. Bending rails that break during the bending process are not a manufactured defect. Pre-bent rail is available for tight radius or other applications.
